He earned a bachelor degree in law at Diponegoro University in Semarang, Central Java and a master degree at University of Indonesia in Jakarta.

He had worked as a researcher at Institute of Strategic, Democracy and Social Studies (KrisiS) Semarang, as lawyer in Indonesian Legal Aid and Human Rights Association (PBHI), legal staff at Nahdlatul Ulama Legal Aid (LBHNNU) as well as one of co-founders of Indonesian Human Rights Committee for Social Justice (IHCS).

At present, he works as secretary-general for the legal aid division at Nahdlatul Ulama’s (NU) youth wing GP Ansor as well as head of subdivision at the Micro Finance Institution (LKM) under The Financial Services Authority (OJK). His expertise is in the land disputes, labor, foreign exchanges, taxation and intellectual property rights.
